Yajaira and Alejandro’s story began in 2014 when they first met in Boston. However, it wasn’t until two years later that their friendship blossomed into something more.
Despite the long-distance challenge, with Yajaira in Miami and Alejandro in Costa Rica, their love grew stronger every day apart. “Our love and understanding fueled the desire that grew stronger every day,” the bride shares.
After countless flights and moves worldwide, Yajaira and Alejandro were ready to take the next step in their love story. In 2021, Alejandro planned a memorable proposal in Key West, Florida, asking Yajaira to spend the rest of her life with him.
On April 20, 2024, the couple exchanged vows in a heartfelt church ceremony in Houston. The ceremony, conducted in Spanish, honored their heritage, celebrating Alejandro’s Honduran roots and Yajaira’s Venezuelan background. The traditional service was a beautiful reflection of their love and shared cultural bonds.
Following their vows, the couple hosted an intimate reception in the Candela Room at The Bell Tower on 34th. The black and white minimalistic decor created an elegant yet understated atmosphere, with extended reception tables adorned in sleek black linens, white florals and soft candlelight. The centerpiece of the reception was a chic three-tier wedding cake by Cakes by Gina, featuring delicate pearl detailing, adding a sweet touch to the evening.
