Amira and Jeries’ story began in the heart of the Bethlehem area in Palestine, where their families have shared generations of friendships. Despite this connection, the two had never met until fate intervened. While visiting Bethlehem, Amira struck up a conversation with a woman in a salon who spoke enthusiastically about her son, Jeries, who lived in Houston.

Sometime later, the village priest suggested that Amira and Jeries meet. Little did Jeries know that his mother and Amira had already met. After exchanging phone numbers, the two quickly realized their connection. “We consider her like our secret guardian angel who brought us together, even though we were miles and miles away from our hometown,” Amira shares.

Jeries proposed to Amira atop a snowy mountain in Washington. “He spent the day hiding the ring, switching it from pocket to pocket so I wouldn’t know,” the bride recalls.

The couple exchanged vows during a romantic fall church ceremony. The aisle was adorned with fragrant pastel blooms, creating an elegant setting as family and friends celebrated the newlyweds. Adding a touch of vintage charm, Amira and Jeries made a grand entrance to their reception in a vintage, white Rolls Royce from Houston Classic Wedding Cars.

After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed an intimate dinner upstairs at their wedding venue while guests mingled during a lively cocktail hour. The reception decor featured verdant olive trees and a warm palette of beige, burnt orange, and baby pink hues. As a nod to their roots, guests were served Arak, a traditional drink. “People felt like they were home,” the bride says. The celebration came to life with cultural traditions, including the bridal candle dance and the groom’s stick dance, honoring their heritage and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
