Skyler and Erik’s love story began at a lively sports bar in Houston, where they hit it off instantly. Skyler, a Houston native, was charmed by Erik, a Philadelphia-area hockey player who had moved south to play ice hockey at the University of Arkansas and eventually settled in Houston for work. Just 24 hours after their first meeting, Erik asked Skyler on a date to a small Italian restaurant. Skyler excitedly called her mom to tell her about the “cute boy” she was going on a date with, only to discover that the venue was the same restaurant her parents had visited on one of their first dates!

When Erik was ready to propose, he planned a surprise under the guise of a family birthday celebration. Upon arriving at Skyler’s parents’ home, she was stunned to find their pier beautifully decorated with flowers and Champagne. After she said “yes,” their family, secretly watching from inside, erupted in cheers. But the surprises didn’t stop there; a boat filled with more family and friends arrived, and they celebrated with a beautiful engagement party.

Skyler and Erik wed at The Bell Tower on 34th, exchanging vows in an outdoor ceremony with the stunning Waterwall as their backdrop. One special moment from the day was Skyler’s father stepping in to officiate the ceremony, making it even more personal. The couple’s celebration was filled with memorable touches, from fresh baby’s breath by Lush Flowers to Skyler’s mom’s handmade décor. Skyler says, “Erik and I feel extremely blessed for the family and friends around us that gave us our dream wedding experience!”
