Natalie and JR’s love story began unexpectedly at a 2014 Houston Rockets game. During the match, JR boldly handed Natalie his business card. “I was not going to call him…I mean, who gives a business card?” Natalie says. Later, JR contacted Natalie on Facebook, suggesting another date at a Rockets game. With one mutual connection, Natalie’s cousin, she sought reassurance about JR. Her cousin gave the thumbs up, and the rest, as they say, is history.

After a few years of dating, Natalie and JR moved to Austin, although they both knew Houston was where they wanted to put down roots. The weekend before closing on their new home in Houston, JR proposed to Natalie during a cozy, home-cooked dinner in the comfort of their Austin home. “It was perfect,” says the bride. “Just the two of us and our Goldendoodle, Hamilton.”

In a romantic al fresco ceremony at Natalie’s family home, Natalie and JR pledged their love. Their rainy outdoor wedding was a vision of blue and green, beautifully complementing the natural surroundings and verdant greenery, creating the perfect backdrop for the couple’s heartfelt exchange of vows.

The celebration continued with an elegant tented reception, where candlelight, lush greenery, and abundant flowers set the scene. Café Natalie, renowned for its exceptional culinary cuisine, treated guests to an unforgettable dining experience. The evening was marked by emotional Champagne toasts and live entertainment, ending with a private last dance for the couple before their grand send-off in a vintage car. “Despite the weather, our loved ones showed up, and it was magical,” the bride says.
