Anna and Ryan’s love story began at a 4th of July party in 2018, but their connection deepened when they unexpectedly found themselves quarantined together with friends during the pandemic. Once quarantine lifted, Ryan asked Anna on a date, officially marking the start of their relationship. “I jokingly told my friends I didn’t know if he liked me or if he was talking to me because I was one of the six people he could hang out with,” Anna says.

When the time came to propose, Ryan orchestrated a heartwarming surprise in their shared apartment. While Anna enjoyed happy hour with friends, Ryan transformed their home into a romantic haven filled with candles. Anna came home to find a heartfelt letter waiting on the table. As she finished reading, she turned to see Ryan on one knee. After her joyous “yes,” the couple celebrated with a bottle of Champagne before heading out for what Anna believed was a romantic dinner. Instead, she was welcomed by friends and family gathered to celebrate the newly engaged couple.

Anna and Ryan wed on July 22, 2023, at The Astorian, an industrial-chic wedding venue overlooking the Downtown Houston skyline. The ceremony featured a sophisticated palette of champagne and black hues, accented by lush hanging greenery that brought a romantic touch to the space. Mandi Roach Photography captured the couple’s emotional vows. “We were just so stinking excited to be getting married,” Anna says. “We wanted all that joy to be captured.”

The couple’s elegant color palette extended seamlessly into their reception, where tablescapes were adorned with white roses and greenery. Heartfelt speeches from family and friends added a personal touch to the celebration before live entertainment by Intensity Bands set the mood for a lively night of dancing. Guests and the bride and groom enjoyed the energetic atmosphere before concluding the evening with a vintage car grand exit.
