The Rice, located on the site of the original capitol of the Republic of Texas and one of Houston's most historic buildings, has recently reopened following a 40 million dollar restoration.

In keeping with the 1913 design, the Crystal Ballroom is resplendent with crystal chandeliers, heroic murals, 35 foot ceilings and a full wraparound terrace. The 5,600 square foot event space and the adjunct 1,400 square foot Parlor provides an ample space for up to 400 guests for a seated meal, with a dance floor. Houston's most exclusive caterers provide food and beverage service. Auto valet accommodations are available.

The unique Empire Room is an elaborately furnished space designed for receptions of groups up to 70 people. Located on the same level as the Crystal Ballroom, the Empire room as a 20-foot serving bar, private terrace, sound system and beautiful lounge furniture. Twenty-two foot ceilings, a soaring eighteenth century fireplace and crystal chandeliers make for a room to remember.
