Christa + Kevin
When you meet by chance at a rooftop bar in South Carolina, and you can’t take your eyes off each other, and you discover that not only are you both from Houston, but you’re both booked on the same flight home, well…you may want to chalk it up to fate. Christa and Kevin did, and it led them directly to the altar less than three years later, for a magnificent wedding at The Astorian. As Christa, a former professional wedding photographer notes, “Kev and I both really connect to the 1930s and 1940s eras, and we both have ties to Manhattan, so The Astorian”—with its “dark, sultry ambiance” and “touch of glamour”—was “the perfect background for our wedding.” The bride notes that her rose-gold engagement ring inspired the copper accents in her wedding color scheme, while her background as a classically trained musician inspired her bridal processional music: “Clair de Lune” by Claude Debussy. She adds: “Instead of holding bouquets, each of our daughters held a candle for the parents that we wished could be with us.”
